Scapegrace’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection “ËGSI NA“ was rooted in the reinterpretation of Senegalese history by the designer of the diaspora. Celebrated through a release of casual wear, Scapegrace’s identity branches out into a new medium through a blend of real-world environments, textures and cartoon.

Brief: Scapegrace needed a piece of media for their digital campaign rollout on the upcoming Spring/Summer collection 2025 which consisted of jeans, jorts, t-shirts and boxers. It was up to me on how i wanted to approach it stylistically as it would reflect the brand’s contemporary experimental identity.

Approach: I took the direction of 2D illustration with mixed-media, wanting to create an immersive and tactile world through a blend of 2D and 3D, digital and physical elements, mimicing real-world environments which gave the animation a stylistic diorama feel, catered towards a younger contemporary audience.

Solution: I animated two designed illustrations with the help of pre-made character assets who would traverse through multiple settings made of 2D and 3D planes, with textures of real-world material, predominantly showcasing the collection through walks of daily life, reinforcing its ubiquity and aided with pacing to the music. Animated running men who would pop in occasionally for comic relief.
